Shares in Holcim (HOLN.VX), the world's second largest cement maker, rise 7 percent after JP Morgan raises its rating to overweight from neutral and its price target to 85 Swiss francs from 75.
"JP Morgan recommended buying the shares and many investors have jumped on this," one trader says.
At 1032 GMT, shares in Holcim are up 7 percent at 53.75 francs, outperforming a 3.5 percent rise in the DJ Stoxx European construction index .SXOP.
"The upgrade at Holcim reflects our more optimistic view on its earnings prospects, particularly in India," JP Morgan says.
